Veterinarians will probably prescribe cat acne pads that resemble stridex that you have to use everyday and wash the chin. If you are at your wits end you might try the following itchy cat skin natural remedy on your cat's clean chin.

Cat Itchy Red Skin

The owner of this cat has allowed the condition to go untreated for quite a while. If you present your cat to the veterinarian with this skin condition you will probably be sent home with a prescription for extra strong antibiotics (which may be helpful in some cases) and then asked to return if that doesn't work. You may be one of the unlucky ones who finds their cat is worse off 3 days later. If you are at your wits end it wouldn't hurt to try the following itchy cat skin natural remedy.

Natural Remedy for Cat acne red itchy skin

Borax Powder is a natural mineral mined from the earth (available at your local 24-hour Walmart) which works via it's 'drying action'. As you know, mites lay their eggs under the skin so by applying this gentle, natural remedy, mites will be dehydrated and die. If this remedy works for you, you will notice improvement (a drying up/scabbing over of irritated skin) sometimes as soon as the next day. Most people find this remedy does not harm their cat if a little of the moisture gets in their mouth or eyes.

Hydrogen Peroxide (also available at Walmart) acts as the carrier for the Borax Mineral to take it beneath the skin's surface. Without the fresh Hydrogen Peroxide the Borax powder would not work.

The recipe for this remedy when allowed to AIR DRY on your cat, will leave a powdery residue after it has dried to take care of any surface mites.

How often you apply it depends on you. You could use it every day for several days, or every few days for a couple of weeks and then use spot treatments as new patches appear. Remember to always make up a fresh solution everytime. SEE RECIPE.

This remedy should gently dry the oozy itching skin areas with light flaking off of the skin and/or scabbing over of other red inflamed areas. You can use a flea comb to lift the gently flaking skin -- the fur will probably lift off with it, so your cat may have patches of bald spots until the fur grows back.
